Good morning everyone,

A very quick newsletter today.  Our program is available for the upcoming Easter holidays.  Both the program and the booking forms are available on our website.  Please get those bookings in as quickly as possible as we will need to give final numbers for our Incursions and Excursion to our providers.

We hope you like our plans for the holidays, the children have once again had a huge input.  We were especially asked for another Ranger Jamie Tour as the last one we took in the city was enjoyed so much by the children who attended.

Welcome to a whole new year of OOSH.  

Thanks everyone for your support over the holidays, we truly hope your kids had as much fun as we did.  We are already working on the next program, so any thoughts or ideas are always appreciated.

We have a HUGE amount of lost property left over from the holidays. Towels and clothing, lunch boxes and drink bottles. We will leave everything out next to the sign in table for the rest of this week and next week. After that, it will be taken to charity. Please encourage your children to look after their belongings, put hats, drink bottles etc. in their bags and if they take off their shoes, to put them under their bags.

We are picking the kindy children up from the OOSH meeting spot at 2.40 until regular school hours resume. At that time we will meet them at the OOSH meeting spot when the bell rings at 3.25.  

Children from year one to year six walk straight up to OOSH when the bell rings where they will be marked off the roll.  

Please don’t forget to let us know if your child is not attending. Our centre has a procedure we follow when a child doesn’t arrive.  This involves checking all areas of the school, including perimeters often taking more than two staff away from their duties. You will be charged a search fee for each of your children. 

Our program for this term will be out in two weeks, once the children have settled and are ready for dedicated craft activities.  In the meantime, we are keeping things very simple.
The kids have asked for a ‘Space’ theme for this term. If you have any ideas for craft activities we would love to hear them.  

Please feel free to call or email if you have any questions regarding OOSH, we aim to make our centre a “home away from home”, a place to chill out, relax, hang out with mates, do a little craft if the fancy takes you or play some sport.

That’s it everyone, before and after school care is done and dusted and we have only two days left before we close our doors for a well earned break until January 13th.

If you haven’t got those bookings in for January, don’t forget to do them this week.  We still have spots available on most days.  A copy of the program and the link for booking are on the website. Don’t forget we will take children not attending Avalon School or children starting kindergarten in 2025.  Please give us a call or send an email if you have any questions at all regarding the holidays.

We have had a great year with lots of ups and downs and are all looking forward to Christmas and 2025.  We wish all our families a very Merry and safe Christmas and a Happy 2025.

NEWS FLASH!!!!!!!!!!!          2025 REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

We had some great fun last week at OOSH.  The first week of the last term of the school year.  The children have already started planning their January Vacation Care, incursions are being booked and excursions decided.  They are gearing up for another holiday jam packed with lots of fun.  The program will be available in week seven this term.  Remember that children who are starting school in 2025 are invited to attend during the January holidays.  Attending OOSH is a great way for the little ones to familiarise themselves with our routines, the staff and to make some new friends before starting school.  

Now is the time to book the days you require for next year.  We are offering first choices to our current families, please follow the link to secure your booking before we make offers to new families.  Don’t forget your annual registration fee.  There will be a $50.00 charge to secure your place, the remaining $50.00 will automatically be debited in the new year.  Please follow the link to register for 2025.

Congratulations to our fantastic educator Caitlin. She ran over 100kms last weekend through the Blue Mountains in the UTA100. We are all so proud of your amazing effort running through the rain and the cold on Saturday night. What an inspiration for all the staff and children.

This week marked our third week of Motiv8 sports. We are so pleased to announce that the children participating have voted it a huge success. Ollie and Shannon have done an amazing job of motivating all the kids.
A big congratulations to Ben Smith who won the trophy this week.

Thank you everyone for checking our lost property over the past three weeks. Any school clothes not given back to the children have now gone to the lost property box at the school. We still have a few odd and ends left for collection.

Our Vacation care program for the July holidays has been completed and will be sent out to our families in week seven.

OOSH NEWS – REMINDER

On Friday 1st of March, our team will be hosting a “Welcome to OOSH” evening. We hope you will be able to join us. This is a very informal evening starting at 6.30, a fantastic opportunity for all our parents to meet one another and have a chat. It’s also a time for our new parents to meet with other families using the centre, to informally chat with staff and for us to showcase work we put into our centre.

We would love to see as many families as possible. We have only had responses from two families letting us know they will be attending. We understand that all our families lead busy lives, however if we are not going to have anyone attending we will have to cancel the evening.

A grazing platter will be provided for the adults and some snacks for the kids. Feel free to bring your own drinks.
