Vacation Care

June 9, 2023

It’s here!!!!!

Our vacation care program will be available to view on our website tonight, along with the booking form for any days you require.

We have a fantastic program planned for the kids by the kids themselves.
We have turned one of our cupboard doors into a huge whiteboard where the kids have been writing their ideas for their holidays, some of the ideas have been ridiculously crazy so we have made modifications to accommodate them.  We are really looking forward to seeing the kids enjoy their vacation care.  Remember that what you see on the program is only an indication of the day’s activities.  Surprises always happen where children are steering the ship, and we encourage them to make their own fun.

Please get your bookings in quickly as we are limited to the number of children we can accept into the program daily and don’t forget to complete permission form for both excursions if your child is attending.  We cannot take children away from the centre without written permission from parents or guardians.  Please follow the link to secure your booking:-

Also please remember that when you submit your booking form, you can only book days with availability.  If you can’t tick the box it’s because we are fully booked on that day.  You will receive a confirmation message when your booking form has been submitted, along with an email copy for your records.

We have already begun work on the Spring Vacation Care program.  Please encourage your kids to talk to us about their ideas or write on the whiteboard suggestions for the holidays.  If any parents have any talents – carpentry, cooking, art, jewelry making etc you would like to share for an hour or two, you are more than welcome to contact us.

Thank you all for your continued support.  We hope you all enjoy the long weekend, don’t forget double demerits, drive safe.

In order to comply with covid restrictions all our incursions have been tailored to “Drop and Run” services. Providers are bringing their equipment in and leaving straight away where our staff then clean the equipment before use.

Updated Vacation Care Week 2 Program:

Monday: Ultra Gaming – The Mobile Game Theatre.
Tuesday: Woodworking
Wednesday: Fantastic Inflatables (no vacancies)
Thursday: Laser Tag
Friday: Disco and Pizza Party
Monday: Pupil Free Day

We are currently fully booked on Wednesday but still have availability for the other days. Please let us know by Friday if you require any care for next week.

Thanks for your support everyone!

June 29, 2021

Due to the current lockdown situation we have been advised not to go ahead with many of our incursions and excursions that we had planned for vacation care. Whilst we are disappointed that we have had to reschedule many activities, we are excited that Kerrie and the team from Fun Day Out have offered a “drop and run” service to our centre so we can make sure our holidays are still full of fun activities!

This weeks changes:
Wednesday 29th June: Rolling Coaches will be changing to a Movie and Pyjama day.
An inflatable movie screen will be delivered to OOSH and we will enjoy four hours of movie fun.Wear your PJs, bring a pillow, we will make popcorn and chill out for a Disney extravaganza in the hall.

Thursday 1st  July:
we have been provided with “drop and run” inflatable games.  Enjoy the fun of playing chess, connect 4 or draughts in a larger than life format.

Friday 2nd July: In replacement of our excursion to Billarong Reserve, we will have a pizza and wheels day. Rolling Coaches provider Charlie, will deliver scooters, so no need to bring your own. Please make sure you provide your own helmet.

We are currently fully booked for Wednesday this week and next.  We still have a few spots left for other days both weeks.

We are doing our best to improvise our program and deliver fun in the safest way possible for your children. We have been implementing COVID safe practices for over a year now but we have been ensuring that we ramp these up during this current outbreak. This also means it is important for parents not to send your children if they are sick as we need to do everything we can to keep our OOSH community healthy during this time. We are back to COVID protocols for pick up and drop offs so please make sure you do not enter our building and pick children up from the deck.

Thanks again everyone for your support, we will endeavour to keep you updated daily.

June 23, 2021

Once again, we are at the end of another term with only a few days to get your registrations in for Vacation Care.

We have a fantastic program planned for the Children with spots still available for some days. Click here to make a booking.

We are more than happy to welcome Children from outside Avalon School, so if you have any friends or Family wanting to send their Children, we would love to meet them.

You don’t need to be working to utilise our service, so if there is an activity your Kids would like to try, please get in touch with us. We just may be able to save your sanity over the break.

A copy of our current program along with a confirmation form for days required can be found here.

Please make sure your kids have plenty of food to last the whole day. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. A refillable drink bottle and appropriate clothing for winter. Although days can be warm, it gets really cold in the afternoon when the sun goes down. Please DO NOT put your Kids in their best clothes. Holiday care isn’t a fashion show…. it’s for having fun, making a mess and getting dirty.

Please make us aware of any allergies your Children may have, although we expect them to provide all their own food, we often cook up a “treat”.

Also please note that sometimes the program will need to be changed at the last minute due to weather restrictions.

As always, thank you all for your continued support this term. If we don’t see you during vacation care, we look forward to seeing you in term three.
